Minecraft Education: Engaging Math Adventures

In collaboration with with my sister, a math teacher and PhD candidate, we entered a national programming and design competition tailored for educators and students. This competition, endorsed by Microsoft and Apple and facilitated by the Saudi Ministry of Education, provided an exceptional platform for showcasing our combined skills and creativity.

This competition aims to enrich the culture of computer software utilization by fostering the development of advanced skills aligned with the demands of the twenty-first century. It seeks to stimulate creativity, innovation, and software production across diverse fields through playful and simulation-driven learning methods. These approaches are designed to augment learning outcomes, infuse lessons with enjoyment and engagement, and elevate specialized Arabic content through imaginative instructional techniques.

Little Memole: 3D Modeling

I’m presently working on a 3D game concept as part of the Art for Games Specialization from Michigan State University. The focus of this course is to delve into the realm of 3D modeling through the creation of assets using tools like Maya and Unity.

The game environment is a charming closet space, I found no character more fitting than Little Memole. This beloved anime figure, especially familiar to those who grew up in the 90s, perfectly complements the ambiance. The character modeling phase took approximately 2 weeks to complete, and I’m currently in the process of refining the rigging and animation aspects.

Supernatural Bros

As part of the Character Design for Video Games course in the Game Design Art & Concepts Specialization from CalArts, we were asked to redesign and blend existing characters from different genres or art styles.

I decided to redesign the main characters from the long-running show “Supernatural” as if they were in Super Mario’s world. I illustrated them with the same principals as the Mario characters and the same general proportions. Castiel, Dean and Sam, are still very recognizable with their iconic outfits. (pictured below)

The Shooter: A Game Re-Imagined

The Shooter: A Day of Reckoning.

A Cinematic interactive psychological drama/ shooter game. The game follows two main characters: Jane, a widow of a criminal and the protagonist; Jake, a crime leader in-hiding and the antagonist.

I developed this game script as part of the “Story And Narrative Development For Video Games” course from the CalArt’s Game Design Art And Concepts Specialization. We were given a basic story outline with two characters -a protagonist and an antagonist- and a main plotline. We were encouraged to go beyond that scope and develop our own spin on the story, flip the characters dynamic, develop our own game mechanics, and create our own unique game world.
